- **Items profile → **for more targeted monitoring of Serial Numbers of selected Items through transactions,
- **Document Types **→ to activate the Serial Number creation/selection.

| ### <span style="color: #ffffff">STOCK MANAGEMENT PARAMETERS</span><br>***<span style="color: #ffffff">(Parameters menu → Commercial Management → Stock Management → Parameters → Properties tab → Serial Numbers)</span>*** |
| **S.N.** | Serial Numbers can be used for Stock Items that have the **SN** field activated. | The activation is mandatory to monitor the Items in Serial Numbers through Stock Management. | |
| **Import SN (third party)** | Activate to manage the Serial Numbers of third parties with no transactions in your Company’s W/H. | Set one of the following values in Doc Type → **SN Type **field *(Purchase Doc design → Stock Management → Group Sets → Serial Numbers):*<br>1. *Back* or
2. *Check-in for service *<br>See whether a Serial Number has transactions or not, using Check SN availability. | *Suppose you own a mobile service shop and you work with electronics retailers. Entering an item for service is considered as a purchase, both for management and accounting purposes.* |
| **Export SN** | During the sales process, only the Serial Numbers included in the Serial Numbers file are available, thus excluding the case of manual entry.<br>You may set the following:<br>- *Select only with SN *→ Check only the items required to be monitored in Serial Number.
- *Select only → *Check all items monitored in Serial Number.
- *No check* → Serial Numbers cannot be monitored. In this case, you cannot check SN availability if SN Types are set to *Back or Check-in for service*. | It applies only to Sales and related status.
| **Repurchase SN** | Set whether you create/buy Serial Number that is already sold.<br>If activated, then it applies only to transactions for which the Document Type in the **SN Type** field *(Purchase Document Type → Stock tab → Serial Numbers) *has one of the following values:<br>1. *Sales/Consumption*
2. *Dismissal from Service*
3. *Purchase/Production* | It works in combination with the **Export SN** parameter which should not be set to *No check*.<br>If *No check* is set, the message *WARNING! Serial Number not available*, will be displayed as a warning message and not as a prohibition.
| **Unique SN in item** | - *Use in one item only → *The specific Serial Number can be used one by one, only for the specific item. If you select to use it again when creating Serial Numbers, the message *ATTENTION! Serial Number is not available* will be displayed.
- *One Purchase/Production: *This Serial Number is available only once for the Purchase/Production status, *i.e. cannot be purchased again (e.g. Dismissal from Service).* If you select to use it again when creating Serial Numbers, the message *ATTENTION! Serial Number is not available* will be displayed.
- No Check → Any Serial Number can be used without restrictions. | If you use ***Use in one item only*** or ***One Purchase/Production***, and add a second item to the document lines that is monitored in **Serial Numbers (SN)** and has the same **SN code format** (*Items → Properties → Serial Numbers, Warranties*) as the previous one, then the **Suggested code *****(Create SN)*** follows a ascending order — meaning it continues from the last Serial Number used by the previous item.
| **SN Status (warranties)** | Set the SNs Status selected in the **SN** field in Warranties profile. | All SNs Status are available. | You can see the Status in the *Serial Numbers - Availability, Display, Select in the Document lines.* |
| **Delete SNs when changing W/H** | Activate to delete the Serial Number lines when modifying the W/h in Doc header. | It concerns cases of Serial Numbers set and then modified in the Doc header. If activated, these Serial Numbers:<br>- will be deleted from the Doc’s columns.
- will not be in the list of available Serial Numbers *(right-click → Serial Numbers). *
| ### **<span style="color: #ffffff">STOCK ITEMS</span>**<br>***<span style="color: #ffffff">(Jobs Menu → Commercial Management → Stock Management → Stock Items → Tracking & Variation Management tab)</span>*** |
| **SN** | - *Yes (Mandatory) → *To be required to enter/use Serial Number when selecting an item in Doc lines.
- *Yes (No check) → *To be optional to enter Serial Number when selecting an item in Doc lines.
- *No → *The Item will not be monitored in Serial Number. | Activate the parameter to monitor Item in Serial Number. | ** ****<span style="color: #7a869a"> </span>**
** ** |
| **SN code format** | Set the SN code format based on characters specifications for the [Code format](https://soft1wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SS5EN/pages/189268499) in the corresponding fields in the ERP. SN code format can accept up to 50 characters. | - Activate it to set new Serial Numbers massively when creating Docs *(e.g. Purchase Doc)* and check SNs per item code.
- If SN code format is not set, upon creating new SNs massively, the message *SN code format is blank *will be displayed. | It is available in Serial Numbers - Transaction <span style="color: #172b4d">Operation.</span> |
| **Warranty (months)** | Activate the Warranties process for Serial Numbers.<br>1. Type the months (natural number) for which the warranty is valid.
2. If you set 0, then a one-day warranty will be created. If it is left blank, no warranty is included. | If warranty is not filled in the Item's profile, you can set it in the Doc *(Sale/Purchase Doc).*<br>- Add the **Warranty (months)** field in Doc lines *(Sale/Purchase Doc)*, using the column design.
- If a warranty is set in an Item, then the Item’s warranty months are suggested in this field.
| ### **<span style="color: #ffffff">DOCUMENT TYPES</span>**<br>***<span style="color: #ffffff">(Purchase, Sales, Stock, Composition & Production Documents)</span>*** |
| **SN Type**
(Purchases - Sales/ Stock Docs) | Activating the field is mandatory:<br>- to select/create Serial Numbers *(e.g. in Purchase / Production)*
- to select/use the SN codes available in Stock* (e.g. in Sales/Consumption). *

If the **SN** flag is activated in Stock Management parameters, then the **SN Type** should be activated in all Docs (*No Action *shall not be selected).
| **Consumption SN type & Product SN type**
(Production Docs) |
| **SN type (Header) & SN type (Lines) **(Composition/Inventory Docs) |
| **Update warranty** | By selecting Update warranty, then a Warranty is automatically created when the document is created, for which you have the following options:<br>- *Yes (delete upon modification) → *when modifying the Serial Number of a created Doc, a new warranty is created and the old one is deleted.
- *Yes (no delete upon modification) → *when changing the Serial Number in a created Doc, a new warranty is created and the old one is not deleted, it remains but is removed from the Doc.
- No → No warranty is created.
