Modifications to already set item prices in a business are quite common and may be caused by various reasons, such as tax policy changes *(e.g., VAT changes) *or seasonal sales. In any case, a company should be prepared for both mass updates *(e.g., for an entire product category) *and more targeted changes *(e.g., individual items)*.

The **Modify sales prices **&** Modify sales prices (mass) **jobs are available in SOFT1 ERP, allowing users or companies to modify item prices based on specific criteria, either by percentage or markup.

The modifications can be applied to both wholesale and retail prices, as well as alternative wholesale and retail prices *(e.g., price lists based on Customer categories)* in the stock items file.

Find the jobs as follows:

- The **Modify Sales Prices **job* (Commercial management → Sales → Prices - Pricing policies)* → to modify sales prices of the available items.
This job is also available in Items Browsers/Lists* (Commercial Management → Stock Management → Stock Management → Stock Items)* → to modify sales prices to Items in your W/h, whether with transactions or not.
- The **Modify sales prices (mass) **job is available in the Purchase Doc Browsers/Lists *(Commercial Management → Purchases → Purchase Documents)* → to modify sales prices to Items used in Docs.

**Example**

Suppose that, as the owner of a camping equipment shop, you purchase a certain tent cover (M120.12.98) from your usual supplier. Due to increased demand, you and your supplier agree to buy this product at a slightly higher price, allowing you to resell it at a slightly higher price as well.

The most recent purchase of this item was made at the agreed-upon higher price. However, since there is available stock from previous purchases, it is preferred to update the **Retail Price** for all available stock, regardless of the purchase date, incorporating both the markup and the cost price based on the most recent purchase price.

Work as follows:

- Go to the **Modify sales prices** job *(Commercial management → Sales → Prices - Pricing policies).*
- Activate the **Retail price** flag, in the **Basic prices**.
- Set the **Calculation based on **field** **to** Cost price and existing mark up**.
- Set the **Cost price** field to **Last purchase price**.
- Use the **Select items based on filters **tab to find the item with the code M120.12.98, for example, by setting the Code, Description, or Common supplier.
- Select Run.

The modifications to the Retail price of an item have been successfully applied and displayed upon Items invoicing in a Sales Doc.

:info: You may monitor the Cost Prices you selected for the preferred item* (e.g. Last Purchase Price)* from the *Financial data* Related job in the Item's Profile.
It is required to have the corresponding Valuation Method set, *e.g. Last Purchase Price (Stock management → Parameters → Basics).*
