The process of Fixed Assets Opening and Opening Balance is a dual procedure that occurs in every new installation to:

a) enter the fixed assets and maintain a fully up-to-date '**register**' and

b) accurately run depreciations and update them.

This process consists of three (3) stages:

1. Importing the main fixed assets through an Excel file import process.
2. Importing and updating fixed asset entities through an Excel file import process.
3. Importing inventory assets using the 'Inventory start' task.

> ℹ️ The 'Assets one-to-one with entity' parameter should not be activated for the F/A opening process prior to import. If your company wants to track assets using this method, enable the parameter after completing the import process.
