## Introduction
SOFT1 ERP allows you to send SMS messages to your customers and business contacts - either individually or in bulk. To enable this functionality, you need to perform the following configuration.
## Set up
From the General System Settings go to tab "SMS" where all the parameters have to be set.
- **SMS Provider**: Select the SMS provider.
- **Registration**: The hyperlink leads you to the SMS provider's website where you can create a new account or renew your credits for sending SMS messages.
- **Sender caption**: Enter the sender's name that will be displayed to the SMS recipient. All characters have to be entered in English.
- **Username**: Fill in the Username which has been used to Register the SMS Provider.
- **Password**: Fill in the password which has been used to Register the SMS Provider.
## Functionality
Select a browser of **Customers **or **Contacts, ** where the mobile phone is included in one of this browser's columns. Then, having selected the desired customer(s)/or contact(s), apply right click and select " **Send SMS** ".
In the new window, write the **message** that the **Recipients **will receive and indicate the field where the mobile phone number is located.
Specifically:
- **GSM Phone**: The Web SMS Server has to be selected.
- **Recipient**: From the available **Fields, **select the one that corresponds to the recipient's mobile phone number (i.e. PHONE2). The column of the phone to which the SMS will be sent (eg PHONE2) should be available in the browser.
- **Message**: Enter the text that you wish to send by SMS using single quotes. A combination of available application fields is supported.
- Select <**Send**> SMS.
